The ADHD-specific layer of your birth preparation
Because preparing for birth isn’t just about knowing what happens during labour. It’s also about understanding what ADHD might bring to the experience.
Understand how ADHD can affect pregnancy and birth - and discover practical tools to help you navigate the experience with more confidence, self-awareness and choice.
If you're pregnant and have ADHD, you're probably already thinking about antenatal education.
Which is great!
Traditional antenatal education gives you the essential birth knowledge: what happens during labour, your choices and options, interventions, feeding, newborn care and more.
But there's a bit missing…
What about your ADHD?
How might pregnancy affect an already-busy brain?
Why can decision-making become harder when you're overwhelmed?
Why might speaking up to medical professionals feel surprisingly difficult?
Why can emotions feel VERY big?
And what happens when birth doesn't go according to plan?
That's where Birth for Busy Brains comes in.
This isn't another antenatal course.
It's the ADHD layer that's often missing.
Designed to sit alongside your usual antenatal education, Birth for Busy Brains explores how ADHD can influence your experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood - and gives you practical tools to help you navigate it.
ADHD + pregnancy + birth
Pregnancy and birth can bring some particularly interesting challenges for an ADHD brain:
🧠 Information overload
There are appointments, decisions, advice and an endless stream of things you’re apparently supposed to remember.
💭 Big emotions
ADHD can affect emotional regulation, and some people with ADHD experience particularly intense reactions to perceived criticism, rejection or getting something “wrong”.
🔄 Unexpected changes
Birth doesn’t always follow the plan. For an ADHD brain that likes to anticipate, understand and prepare, unexpected changes can feel particularly challenging.
🌪️ Overwhelm
Your nervous system may already be working hard, and pregnancy can add another layer of physical and emotional demands.
👩⚕️ Authority figures
Being in a medical environment can make it surprisingly difficult to ask questions, disagree or say what you actually want - particularly if you have a tendency to people-please or fawn.

No giant workbook!
Because the last thing you need when you're pregnant with ADHD is another course with 47 modules, 12 hours of video and a workbook the size of a small novel (which you won't ever start!)
The lessons are short, focused and easy to dip into.
You'll also get short practical yoga, breathing and mindfulness practices that you are more likely to actually engage with.
The Mindfulness meditations are between 4 - 8 minutes long, so they're easy to fit into real life.
And these aren't just birth skills.
Understanding what you need, finding ways to regulate your nervous system, managing big emotions and finding your voice can support you through birth - and long after your baby arrives.
Because parenting can mean:
less sleep + more noise + more demands + bigger emotions + absolutely no guarantee that anything will go according to plan 🙃
Meet the Instructor
Hello, I’m Brigid.
I’ve been supporting women through pregnancy and birth for more than 20 years as an antenatal educator, pregnancy and postnatal yoga teacher, baby massage instructor, Mindfulness teacher, hypnobirthing practitioner and teacher trainer.
And I have an ADHD brain myself, so I know that the way we experience information, overwhelm, emotions and decision-making can sometimes look and feel a little different.
I created Birth for Busy Brains to bring those two worlds together: decades of experience supporting women through birth, alongside an understanding of what it’s like to navigate life with a busy brain.
You don't need to become perfectly organised.
You don't need to meditate for an hour.
You don't need to stop being emotional.
And you don't need to prepare for birth in someone else's way.
You just need to understand your pregnant self a little better - and have some tools that work with your brain rather than against it.
